Hi Matt, I play an OBAN Revenge (R-flex) but struggle with too much spin and a very high ball flight (mostly due to lousy swing mechanics).

So I got fitted today, there’s a sales at the local shaft shop (Stockholm, Sweden) and my ambition was to test (and find) a Ventus shaft that fits my swing (90+SS, 130+BS), smooth tempo. (At 59 years (and only 5.8″…) you need all the help you can get.) Turns out that there was no Ventus for me…

After trying some other different makes and models the fitter pulled out the Aretera Blue 55-4 (new to me) – and this was the one. Very smooth, but mainly extremely accurate – every swing right in the sweetspot (smash factor of 1.5 on every shot). I felt like I couldn’t miss.

A quick check at pluggedingolf to see if there were any reviews… And yes, I’m picking it up tomorrow.

No, they really don’t, which surprised me. As I said in the review, a friend told me these shafts were “boardy” which made me think they would be Ventus clones. They’re anything but.

Given Alex’s history with Fujikura, Matt, do these two shafts remind you of anything in the Ventus lineup? (Or maybe Speeder NX?) I’ve read your reviews of Fujikura shafts and have hit all six current Ventus shafts myself, but haven’t been able to try the Aretera shafts yet.
