Kentwool Socks – Blue Ribbon Gear

On a golf course, no one’s feet work harder than a caddie’s.  It’s no surprise, then, that the Association of Professional Tour Caddies recently joined forces with Kentwool, the maker of the best socks on the planet.

Like so many great golf products, Kentwool’s golf socks were created by a golfer with a need.  Kentwool’s CEO Mark Kent was playing in the 2008 BMW Charity Pro-Am, and after three days of golf, his feet were badly blistered.  He asked his caddy, “Why doesn’t anyone make a better golf sock?”  With the kind of bluntness you only get from a looper, his caddy replied, “You run a wool manufacturing comapny.  Why don’t you go make a great golf sock?”

So why are Kentwool’s golf socks the best in the world?  If you want all the technical bits about nylon venting and comfort zones, you can go HERE, but the simple answer is that they’re the most comfortable.  They’re made from merino wool which is soft, breathable, and moisture-wicking.  Your feet will stay cool, dry, and cushioned all day long.

In the last ten years, I’ve played countless rounds in Kentwool socks and their Blister-Free Guarantee has always held true.  On top of that, they’re durable.  I still have the first pair of Kentwool socks that I got a decade ago, and I’d rather wear them then a brand new sock from any other company.

  1. Love these, I’ll actually do laundry just to have a clean pair for golf if they are all dirty.

My only complaint is I wish they would make the Gameday colors in the low profile sock.

  2. Thorlo’s are the best I’ve ever had, and I’m very loyal to them. Full disclosure: I haven’t tried the Kentwool’s. I may pick up a pair to compare.

    Have you guys tried Thorlo’s?

      Jonathan,

Yes, I wore Thorlos a lot in college. The type that I had then were EXTREMELY thick and hot. Perhaps they have more styles now.

      Best,

      Matt

      • Yes, they have more options now on thickness (thick, medium, and thin versions).
I tried the Kentwools, and I was impressed … impressed enough for them to be a solid second place in the sock department. Thorlo’s have confirmed themselves to be the best in my book.
