Michael Feland

Michael moved to the Central Florida area from New Orleans, Louisiana in 1988. He and his wife have enjoyed raising their two children and Labradors in warm Orlando sun. Living in Central Florida allows for almost year-round golf, which suits Michael.

Michael is a Level 1 Certified Instructor with First Tee of Central Florida and has enjoyed mentoring youth golfers for the past 10 years. When Michael was 14, his family lived in Venezuela for 2 years. He was fortunate enough to learn golf from a young Venezuelan pro named Franci Betancourt. Franci went on to teach and mentor the likes of PGA Professionals Jhonattan Vegas and Kevin Kirk Michael is proud of the fact that he learned golf and dropped to a 10 handicap in just two years of playing. Playing golf for the past 45 years has not gotten old. The challenge to always score better and reach new goals is what helps fuel his passion for the game.

If Michael is away from golf, he’s probably wishing he was somewhere close to a course. He and his wife to enjoy traveling and find the coast of Maine to be one of their favorite destinations. Michael and his wife recently traveled to the United Kingdom and Michael was able to play 3 fabulous Scottish courses including the Old Course at St. Andrews. It was an incredible golfing experience and he walked away with memories for a lifetime and a smooth 76 capped off with a birdie on 18.

With a B.A. in graphic design from Louisiana State University, Michael has been in the advertising and marketing profession for more than 35 years. A proud fan that cheers on all his Tiger teams and follows his LSU golfing alumni on the PGA and LPGA tours.
