It’s free to have nearly every feature and does a nice job of picking issues up. Highly recommended.

Comment on 2021 Adams Tight Lies Fairway Wood Review by Indyvic https://pluggedingolf.com/2021-adams-tight-lies-fairway-wood-review/#comment-325924 Thu, 10 Oct 2024 19:19:25 +0000 https://pluggedingolf.com/?p=90269#comment-325924 I had an original Tight Lies Titanium back in the day and it was a strong performer. Foolishly I sold it and went for this new model in a 3 wood. What a disappointment. The distance was much shorter in comparison to the Ti model so moved it along and for not much $ either as it’s value dropped like a stone. Check it out yourself. If I could find another Ti original model that would be great but this ‘Taylor Made’ model didn’t cut it for me. Be surprised if TM continues with this but who knows?

Comment on TRUE Linkswear OG Cush Review by Mark Caley https://pluggedingolf.com/true-linkswear-og-cush-review/#comment-325923 Thu, 10 Oct 2024 16:17:49 +0000 https://pluggedingolf.com/?p=115875#comment-325923 Had a pair of True’s some years back. Loved the fit and comfort. Unfortunately, after decades of golf in a traditional shoe where the heel is raised I could not adjust to my foot being closer to the ground. Loved the shoe but just couldn’t hit the ball in them.

Comment on PXG Black Ops Irons Review by Robert B https://pluggedingolf.com/pxg-black-ops-irons-review/#comment-325922 Thu, 10 Oct 2024 15:40:40 +0000 https://pluggedingolf.com/?p=115324#comment-325922 Thanks for the review. I bought and have played the Black Ops irons for over a month now. I played the Gen6 XP’s last year and PING G730’s this year. The Black Ops are just as long within a yard or two than the Gen6 XP’s, more forgiving, better proximity. They are feel better than any non forged iron I have hit, similar to the Gen6’s.

Agreed. Mizuno seems to vacillate between having clearly differentiated irons and years where there’s too much overlap.

Start out fine the later in the round they feel tight and have to take them off to get circulation back in ?
Cheers

Comment on Mustard Golf App Review by Dan https://pluggedingolf.com/mustard-golf-app-review/#comment-325918 Thu, 10 Oct 2024 14:19:35 +0000 https://pluggedingolf.com/?p=115504#comment-325918 I started with a one-month subscription to Mustard Golf in September and liked the service enough that I switched to the 12-month plan. The system does a great job in evaluating hand path, swing plane, shoulder and hip rotation, early extension, losing posture, etc. Also, the instruction videos to address one’s swing faults are excellent. Finally, Mustard does a great job in responding to e-mails, usually within 24-hours. The swing faults Mustard identified in my swing were the same as a couple of top 100 instructors have identified in the past (I’m a slow learner!).

. It should be noted Mustard does not currently evaluate clubface direction (I am usually a bit open). Also, Mustard only reviews DL video and not FO, but they tell me the service may begin to take FO video later in 2025.

FYI, I updated one of Tiger’s DL swings, and Mustard rated it just a 9.3!. The system notes that Tiger’s hand path was too outside on the backswing, but all other metric’s rated a 10.

Was excited to try these, but after hitting them extensively outdoors, I crossed them off my short list. Sound (harsher) and landing angle just dont work for me. Sorry the 923’s are no longer available.

Darrin,

My advice is always to get fit, even for beginners. You wouldn’t send a new runner out in shoes that don’t fit their feet, yet we frequently send new golfers to the course with clubs that hinder their ability to learn the game.
I’m not saying you can’t buy a used set, but making sure the specs and shaft are right is much more important than the specific model you choose.
